Prescribing and Dispensing (Part 1) - Answering your questions

In this episode of a new Practice Advise series, Dr. Kim Lambert, Associate Registrar of Quality Practice and Dr. Susan Sabatini, one of the College's practice advisors, answer some questions we frequently get asked about prescribing and dispensing. Get answers to questions like "does a veterinarian need to examine an animal at least once a year to prescribe and dispense medications?".

The practice advisory service is available to anyone seeking information related to the regulations, policy and expectations associated with the practice of veterinary medicine in Ontario.

The Role of the Expert Witness

Legislative Reform - The Veterinarians Act

College Registrar and Chief Executive Officer Jan Robinson is joined by John Stevens, Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association and Elise Wickett, Executive Director and Registrar of the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, to discuss the progress towards the modernization of the regulation of the veterinary profession in Ontario.

Modernization of the Veterinarian's Act is an extensive undertaking. The provincial government is currently holding a broad consultation and, in the coming weeks, will be releasing a discussion paper and detailed Consultation.
